GMC Registration for Dr Christopher Jenner, Director of London Pain Consultant
In the UK, doctors must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) to practise medicine.
The public need to have confidence that doctors are competent in their field and abide by high ethical standards.
The duty of the GMC is to protect the publics interest. By keeping up-to-date registers of qualified doctors, the GMC endeavors to ensure that all GMC registered doctors maintain the standards the public and the medical profession expect.
Standards for Doctors are set out in the GMC’s publication Good Medical Practice.
